Lanternlings can grow up! Plus two new games
Every one of the 72 Lanternlings now has a Bright form to grow into, and there are two new games to play: Lantern Match and Lantern Pairs.

What's new
Ever wondered what a Mosslet looks like when it's all grown up? Now you can find out. Every one of the 72 Lanternlings has a Bright form: the same friend, all grown up and glowing a little brighter. Mosslet grows into Mossback, with a whole grove of glowing mushrooms on its shell. Puddlepup becomes Tidehound. And the mythic Auroryx grows into Auroryn, whose antlers light up the whole sky.
Growing up uses the spare copies you've been collecting. Common Lanternlings need three spares and a little lantern light; rarer ones need fewer spares but more light. You always keep one of the original, and if one of your spares is shiny, you'll grow a shiny Bright form.
There are two new games on the Play page too. Lantern Match is a match-three puzzle: swap Lanternlings to line up three or more, make Lantern tiles that light up a whole row and column, and Stars that clear every tile of one kind. Everyone gets the same board each day, so you can compare scores with your friends. Lantern Pairs is a memory game played with your own cards: turn over two at a time and find every matching pair.
How it works
- Open Play, then Growing up, to see which Lanternlings are ready. A Lanternling's own page shows what it needs, too.
- Bright forms go in their own binder in your collection, outside the 72. They stay on your account and can't be swapped.
- Lantern Match gives you 20 moves on today's board. Every 150 points earns 1 lantern light, up to 15 a day.
- Lantern Pairs has three levels. Finishing a game earns 10 lantern light once a day, and you can play as often as you like.
- As always, scores are only shared with friends you've added with a friend code.
